West Java's character-education program needed visuals that parents would trust and kids would actually enjoy, and Jabar Masagi got both.

Jabar Masagi is the West Java Provincial Government's character-education program for high school students across the province. A government education program has to satisfy two audiences that rarely respond to the same design decisions: institutions that need to trust it, and teenagers who need to not roll their eyes at it.

Working with Portside Studio, design the visual identity and the official brand guideline book (logos, cultural pattern libraries, icon systems, and promotional collateral), standardized enough to be published as an official manual for schools and regional education boards.

• Designed the logomark and codified precise rules for grid construction, geometric cultural patterns, regional color values, and multilingual typography.
• Built a cultural pattern library and icon system flexible enough to work across educational workbooks, student credentials, ceremony lanyards, and certificates.
• Standardized the rollout across large-scale signage, school gate banners, and event stages, so the identity held up consistently across West Java's 27 regencies and cities.

The Numbers

A government-scale rollout survives on more than a nice logo. It needs a system rigid enough to stay consistent across hundreds of implementers who will never speak to you directly.
